Last week end, Allergic Traveler headed to the FAAN Walk in Raleigh. This walk was special to me as I got to see some familiar faces from NC FACES. They have been helping me to start an allergy support group in Greensboro, like theirs in Cary. To date, we have a few families involved, but I know there are always more people we can help. Anyway, I have not seen the Cary group since their peanut free outing at the Bull Durham baseball stadium. It was nice to catch up with everyone. The mascot for the Bulls and the Canes made an appearance to the event. The day was a big success. There were many walkers. Congratulations to them for raising more than the target goal! Every dollar helps find a cure. Dr Michael Land, from Duke Children’s Hospital, was there and spoke to his personal motivation behind his involvement with this cause. Everyone should be very proud of the outcome, especially, those behind the scenes who have worked so tirelessly to pull this event off. Volunteers were there very early and stayed until the very end. Once again, we were truly honored to be part of such an important event. If you were part of the event, check out our pictures on our facebook page. Maybe you will find yourself there!
