Treats from the Gluten Free and Allergen Free event

Treats from the Gluten Free and Allergen Free event

I have been doing the Gluten Free and Allergen Free Wellness event for years. There are many reasons why I do this event. Let me tell you about what I get from The Gluten Free & Allergen Free Wellness event.

To begin with, it is an event that fosters a safe feeling. There are various vendors that exhibit at this event that have gluten free food, peanut free food, egg free, dairy free, etc. The list goes on. Having food allergies all my life, and being able to attend such an event where I can eat 90% of the food there, is not only unheard of but it also wonderful. Rarely does this Allergic Traveler ever get the chance to be a pig! There is such a smorgasbord of food that you would think that my allergies disappeared for the day.

The other great thing about this event, is that every vendor that participates usually has a story about what brought them to the food allergy world. Often times, it is the unexpected that motivates us to take on new challenges. I very much appreciate meeting people of our industry and discovering how they are making a difference in the food allergy community.  It is inspiring to me. It is nice to meet so many people with the same passion as mine.

New Products

Another thing that I get from this show is the introduction to new products from some of the well established vendors in our community. It is always fun to try a new product. Whether it be a tasty new cookie from The Gluten & Grain Free Gourmet or a new baking mix from Ardenne Farms . It is always fun to see how creative vendors are becoming.

The show has more than just food, it also has some great products and speakers. Each speaker takes the time to tell you about their story, to teach about what they have learned and to guide you in making future food allergy decisions.

But my utmost favorite thing about the whole show is the giveaways! It is a great way to be introduced to so many new products in such a short time. Many of the food vendors have sample size treats for exhibitors and guests. The added bonus for me with regards to these giveaway, is that I get to bring them with me on my many travels.

If you missed the show in Raleigh, then make sure you don’t miss the one in Greensboro. I am happy to say this is the first time the Gluten Free & Allergen Free Event is coming to my town. I will also be speaking at this event. Come say hello!

In the meantime, here is a list of some of the great vendors that were in Raleigh. Check out their sites, and please support them!

There are so many more! Check out all the vendors here.
